Launch Your Course

Make a profit with the proven, stress-free launch plan that’s earned Teachable instructors millions

Will anyone actually buy your course?

It’s every course creator’s greatest fear: What if I invest my time and resources into creating an online course, and no one buys it? Will all that hard work pay off?

It makes sense to worry—the stakes are high! And new course creators worry about a LOT:

  • “I don’t know where to begin.”
  • “I’m not a great writer.”
  • “I’ve never sold anything before.”
  • “I don’t want to be pushy.”
  • “I’m not tech savvy.”
  • “Selling a course is overwhelming”

Anyone can sell online courses. Even you!

Here’s the thing, you don’t need to be good at all of the above to have a successful, profitable online course. In fact, you don’t need to have ANY background in sales, marketing, or business.

That’s because we’ve boiled hundreds of successful course launches down into a specific, easy-to-replicate formula that YOU can follow, without a drop of experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone with a finished online course and an email list of roughly 500+ subscribers.
Are there prerequisites for this course?
Actually, yes! In order to get the most out of this course, you need two things: an email list (of roughly 500+ subscribers), and a finished online course. If you need help checking those two boxes, other Teachable Academy courses might be a better fit. (Learn more at
What if I don't have an online course?
Start with another Teachable Academy course—either Choose your Course Topic or Create Your Course—before jumping into your launch.
What if I already have a large social media following (but no email list)?
Well aren’t you popular! A large social media following is great, but unfortunately we’ve found that social media followers aren’t as likely to make a purchase as email subscribers. See our Teachable Academy course "Build Your Audience" if you need help getting to that 500-1000 subscriber mark.
How long will this course take?
Preparing your launch might take 1–2 weeks (loosely scheduled.) Once you’re ready to go live with your campaign, the actual emails will be sent out over a period of 30 days. This 30 day window includes a sales period (and your first sale!)
Why can't I just hit "publish" and open my course for sale?
Great question! If your course is always for sale, there’s no real urgency or reason for subscribers to buy now. Think about why companies run promotions or discounts. They’re adding urgency to the offer. In our online course, we’ll teach you more about the strategy most successful course creators use—and why it works so well.
What if I don’t have a website?
Great news: you don’t need a website to build your online course business. With Teachable, we build everything you need to run a complete course business, from the website to the course curriculum platform to the eCommerce.
What’s the difference between a school and a course?
Your Teachable school is the main website where your courses are hosted. Think of it like a college or university: there's the college itself (Teachable school), and then the individual classes that the college offers (Teachable courses).
Do you have any sample Teachable schools?
We do! In this course, we’ll actually show you a complete sample Teachable school that you can check out (for free!) You can also see some examples at
When does the course start and finish?
This is a self-paced online course. You can work through the videos and workbook at your own pace.
Do I need a degree or certification to be a Teachable instructor?
Great question. You don’t need any special certification to be a Teachable instructor, although degrees or accolades certainly don’t hurt your credibility. As long as you have knowledge that someone else values, you have a topic worth teaching. (And believe it or not, some of our most profitable instructors aren’t “experts” by definition.)
How can I access the course?
This course is exclusively available to Teachable instructors on the Basic, Pro, and Business plans. Upgrade at to unlock access.
